Acceptance of equipment for the icebreaker “Arktika” is proceeding successfully

At the beginning of August, a working trip took place to the EMIT plant, with which the EnergoFront company has been cooperating for more than 5 years. The purpose of the business visit was to conduct acceptance tests of four mShw400H2Es electric motors. Acceptance of the engines was carried out jointly with representatives of the customer, manufacturing plants, and the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping. This equipment will be part of the PEMA 250-80 pumping unit, which in turn is designed to supply feedwater to the steam turbine installation of the icebreaker Arktika (Project 22220). This is the first batch of engines; production of 8 more engines for two serial icebreakers has already begun production.

Cantoni Group is a leading European manufacturer of electrical machines, components and tools. This is a group of companies that unites a number of high-tech independent production units located in Poland. The basis for the creation of the group is considered to be the EMIT electrical machine plant in Zhikhlin. The electric motors produced by the Cantoni group are distinguished by European quality of assembly and components. They are distinguished by operational reliability and durability. The range of manufactured products includes electric motors for almost all industries.

Opinion of EnergoFront LLC project manager Ilya Zagorodniy: “The construction of the nuclear icebreaker “Arktika” is a very promising and strategically important project on the scale of our country. And we are incredibly proud to take part in it. In August, tests of engines produced by our partners, the EMIT plant, were successfully carried out under the supervision of the selection committee. This supplier was not chosen by chance. The equipment of the Polish manufacturer is equipped with a unique water cooling system, has a low noise level, and a high degree of engine protection. And since the customer had strict requirements for the quality of equipment and its technical characteristics, EMIT turned out to be an ideal option.

We are 100% confident in the high competencies of our European colleagues. The first stage of engines will be delivered by the end of 2017.”

With the wish for the implementation of large-scale plans,
