Reliability of heat supply to the Arctic: EnergoFront supplied a network pump for the Murmansk CHPP

30 September 2026

The EnergoFront company has completed the supply of a network pumping unit SE-1250-140-11 with a Russian-made A4-400Y-4 electric motor for the needs of JSC Murmansk Thermal Power Plant. The new equipment will replace the exhausted unit and ensure stable heat supply to residents of the Arctic capital during the upcoming heating season.

About the customer

JSC Murmanskaya CHPP (a subsidiary of PJSC TGC-1) is a key supplier of thermal energy for the city of Murmansk. The station provides heat and hot water to about 75% of consumers in the Arctic capital, which places special demands on the reliability and uninterrupted operation of the main and auxiliary equipment.

Task

EnergoFront specialists were faced with the task of replacing an existing network pump that had exhausted its service life. The key requirement of the customer was compliance with the overall and connection dimensions of the new unit. This condition would make it possible to minimize the amount of installation work and avoid costly reconstruction of existing pipelines and foundations.

Solution

Our engineers selected and installed a network pump SE-1250-140-11 (flow 1250 m³/h, head 140 m) with an electric motor A4-400Y-4 (power 630 kW, 1500 rpm, voltage 6 kV). Both units are Russian-made.

Thanks to our deep knowledge of technological processes and close cooperation with manufacturers, we were able to ensure full compliance of the connecting dimensions with the new equipment. This made it possible to integrate the pump into the existing CHP infrastructure without the need to redesign the piping, which significantly saved the client’s time and resources.

Result

The SE-1250-140-11 pump unit, fully equipped, was delivered to the customer and fully complies with the agreed technical specifications.

Key Points:

  • Was: A network pump with an exhausted resource that requires replacement.
  • Became: New highly efficient Russian-made unit, fully compatible with existing piping.

The new network pump will improve the reliability of heat supply to the residents of Murmansk this winter, ensuring a stable supply of coolant in the harsh climatic conditions of the Arctic.
