The Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation is developing a new model of the heat and electricity market
22 June 2015
The Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation continues to work on a new model of the heat and electricity market, which is aimed at attracting the necessary investments in energy efficient technologies and reconstruction of heat sources.
The estimated volume of attracted investments could amount to 2.5 trillion rubles of investment in the next 10 years. As a result, the cumulative effect of the introduction of energy-efficient technologies in energy equivalent can lead to annual savings of about 25 million tons of standard fuel, or about 100 billion rubles.
At the same time, one of the key problems of the industry is the dilapidation of heat supply systems and, as a consequence, colossal heat losses in the networks. 31% of heat sources and 68% of heating networks have exceeded their standard service life.
