“EnergoFront” successfully handed over frequency drives to the commission for the icebreaker “Arktika” under construction
12 October 2017
In mid-2016, the lead nuclear icebreaker Arktika was launched. The length of the universal nuclear icebreaker (project 22220) is 173.3 meters, width – 34 meters, displacement – 33.5 thousand tons, crew – 75 people. He conducts ships in Arctic conditions. Designed to overcome flat ice 2.8-2.9 meters thick at a steady speed. It is a double-draft icebreaker: with a deep draft it can break through thick ocean ice, and with a shallow draft it can work in river beds.
As part of a large-scale project by EnergoFront LLC to supply equipment to the icebreaker Arktika, acceptance and acceptance tests continue. This time the work was carried out at the site of the RUSTMASH plant (Moscow region), part of the TRIOL corporation. The acceptance of frequency converters and transformers was carried out by a commission, which included representatives of EnergoFront LLC, HMS Livgidromash JSC, and Kirov-Energomash Plant CJSC. This equipment will be part of the PEMA 250-80 pumping unit, which in turn is designed to supply feedwater to the steam turbine installation of the icebreaker Arktika (Project 22220).
Upon completion of the work, the accepted equipment was shipped to JSC HMS Livgidromash for final assembly and comprehensive testing of PEMA 250-80 pumping units.
Opinion of EnergoFront LLC project manager Ilya Zagorodniy: “All planned acceptance and acceptance tests passed as usual, without any failures or comments. Protocols, acts and other necessary documents were signed. We are pleased with the result. The next goal is to successfully conduct comprehensive tests of pumping units with subsequent shipment to the customer.”
With wishes for the implementation of the plans,
