EnergoFront wins the “amber” tender

EnergoFront will supply two asynchronous electric motors with a wound rotor to drive GRUT-2000/63 soil pumps for Kaliningrad Amber Plant JSC. Unlike previously installed engines, the new equipment will have additional characteristics, ensuring the operation of the electric motor when installed outdoors at ambient temperatures from -45 to +40 °C.
To meet these requirements for the degree of protection, the motor design has been redesigned: motor cooling method IC0161, motor protection degree IP54, terminal box protection degree IP55.
The Kaliningrad Amber Combine is the only enterprise in Russia where industrial extraction of amber is carried out. The plant is located near the village of Yantarny (formerly Palmniken), where about 90% of the world’s reserves of amber, which is about 50 million years old, are concentrated. Every year the Amber Plant produces about 300 tons of raw materials. The deposit’s reserves are estimated at 116 thousand tons.
Opinion of EnergoFront LLC project manager Maxim Kosyakov: “This project will be the first in our work with Kaliningrad Amber Plant JSC and we will be happy to confirm our status as a reliable partner and expert in drive equipment. The engines are currently in production. At the Customer’s request, production and delivery times will be reduced as much as possible, so equipment delivery is planned for early October 2018.”
