Construction of two units of PGU-220 at Ufimskaya CHPP-5
10 December 2010
The construction of two units of PGU-220 at Ufa CHPP-5 is one of the largest investment projects in the energy system of the Republic of Bashkortostan over the past 40 years. The construction project of CHPP-5 was developed taking into account the expansion of new microdistricts of Ufa. Ufa CHPP-5 is being built in conjunction with the large system-forming substation "Zaton" 220/110/10 kV.
All this together will make it possible to eliminate the electricity shortage of 300 MW, which has emerged in Ufa in recent years. The planned electrical capacity of Ufimskaya CHPP-5 is 440 MW, the installed thermal capacity is 290 Gcal.h.
The general designer of the project is Bashkortostan Energy Engineering Center LLC (INCEB LLC).
Modern gas power plants GTE-160 and steam turbines T-60/73 produced by OJSC Power Machines will be used as the main part of the combined cycle gas unit. The supply of waste heat boilers E-220/50-8.33/0.6-517/211 is carried out by EMAlliance OJSC.
CCGTs allow, in one thermal cycle, to combine high-temperature heat supply to the working fluid in a gas turbine and low-temperature heat removal during condensation of water vapor in the steam turbine condenser. Thus, the CCGT unit combines the gas and steam turbine cycles into one. This ensures more economical electricity production than traditional thermal power plants. The main advantage of CCGT units is a higher level of electrical efficiency (up to 51-53%) compared to 35-38% in steam turbine units currently widely used in Russia.
As part of this project, at the first stage of construction, EnergoFront CJSC supplied 4 APE-240-110 boiler feed pumps. produced by JSC Sumy Plant Nasosenergomash. Modern boiler feed pumps of the PE type and units based on them of the APE type are designed to supply feed water at a temperature of up to 180 ° C to waste heat boilers of power plants with combined cycle gas and steam power plants. Pump - centrifugal, horizontal, sectional, multi-stage, with one-way liquid supply to the first stage
The group of boiler feed pumps was included in the scope of supply of waste heat boilers produced by EMAlliance OJSC. The customer spent a long time deciding on the use of a system for regulating the parameters of boiler feed pumps using fluid couplings in this project. CJSC EnergoFront proposed a universal design solution that allows the pump to operate both with and without a 562 SVTL 12 fluid coupling, and supplied the following equipment: Pumping unit APE 240-110 (Q=300m3/h; N=1260m) with waste collection (Q=30m3/h; N=770m) produced by JSC Sumy Plant “Nasosenergomash” complete with electric motor 4AZM 1600/10000 UHL3 (1600 kW, 10 kV, 3000 rpm) produced by NPO “ELSIB” OJSC, designed on a common frame with the possibility of subsequent installation of a “Voith Turbo” fluid coupling on this frame. Total quantity – 4 pcs.

The pump unit fully provides the required range of operating characteristics, and also fulfills a number of additional requirements: - climatic version - U3 according to GOST 15150-69
- the sound pressure level created by the unit at a distance of one meter from its surface should not exceed 80 dBA
- degree of protection – at least IP54
- manufacturing on a common frame with the possibility of subsequent installation of a Voith Turbo gyro coupling on this frame.

In accordance with the results of acceptance tests carried out in November 2011 in the presence of representatives of JSC EMAlliance at the site of JSC Sumy Plant Nasosenergomash in Sumy, the pumps were found to comply with technical documentation and customer requirements. The delivery of electric boiler feed pump units to Ufimskaya CHPP-5 was carried out ahead of schedule in December 2010.
Due to the crisis situation in the housing construction market, which had a significant impact on the formation of sustainable demand for thermal energy generated by the new station, the construction project was frozen in 2010. However, in April 2011, the Board of Directors decided to continue the construction of CHPP-5 in accordance with the updated project.
CJSC EnergoFront will provide service support for installation and commissioning work at the final stage of construction of the CCGT unit.
At the second stage of construction, our company plans to supply fluid couplings 562 SVTL 12 manufactured by VOITH for a complete set of boiler feed pumps, as well as a group of network, circulation and condensate pumps.
